My baby shower

I am a week behind on this post, but I wanted to post a few pictures of the baby shower the ladies at church had for me last Sunday afternoon. Due to the time of year and everyone's busy schedules they decided to just have a reception after morning service and it turned out very nice. We had cookies, candies, and punch. I got some cute little girl outfits and lots of pink. I also got my double stroller that I really wanted. I am very thankful to have such a great church! Here are a few pictures of the shower.

My Last Doctor's Appointment

Last Wednesday I went to my doctor's appointment and since I was 36 weeks, by his calculations, I started checking me and I was told that I was not dilated or anything even though I have been having Braxton-Hicks contractions for weeks. I did get to finally set my C-section date. On December 29th at 8 am, unless something would happen before then, our little girl will be here. Due to this, this appointment was my last office visit until after the baby is born. We are anxiously awaiting this day and will post again soon after.

Another Appointment

Yesterday I had another appointment. It was not very exciting and only lasted about 20 minutes from the time I walked in until I was scheduling my next appointment. I weighed in at a pound less than two weeks ago. I thought this was pretty good since I enjoyed four Thanksgiving dinners and much fast food since then. I have heard that when you start losing weight the baby is soon to follow so we will see. We have one more trip to Indy planned for tomorrow evening and then we will be spending some time close to home and just waiting. I go back to the doctor on the 17th and then every week after until the c-section which we are hoping will be before the end of the year. The doc said we would see when he starts checking me when he will do the c-section. Baby Beka is doing well and still causing some Braxton-Hicks contractions on a daily basis. She is also moving less, but is still more active than I remember Gabe being. I will keep you posted of any changes.

Only a Few Weeks to Go

These past few weeks have been ones of much stress and uncertainty. Due to this I actually ended up in the ER while we were in Fort Wayne last week. I went thinking I could be leaking fluid much like I did with Gabe, but luckily I was not. I was however having regular contractions. Thankfully they could give me a shot and a pill to help stop the contractions and another shot to help develop the baby's lungs. I was able to leave the hospital after a few hours and with the understanding that I would see my doctor as soon as we got back, which I did. I am still having contraction, which I can now feel, but my doctor said I could continue doing things as normal. Although I am not sure that I will make it to my scheduled c-section date, I am hoping that I make it at least another couple of weeks. We'll see what the doctor says at my next appointment next Wednesday.

Doctor Appt.

Today was my regular appointment with the doctor, but it was not my first time at the office this week. Tuesday I went to have my three hour glucose test done and after drinking the "punch" and waiting an hour I found out that they had made a mistake in the process and they could not do the test so I had to go to out-patient part of the hospital yesterday to have the test done, which took four hours of waiting in the lobby of the hospital and five blood draws. The good news is that they already had the results today and I found out that my levels were fine, which is exactly what happened when I was pregnant with Gabe. I also start going to the doctor every two weeks now. I can hardly believe that it is already time to do that. It won't be that long now! I don;t have any new pics, hopefully next time.

The Dreaded Test

Well on Thursday, the dreaded call came from the doctor's office telling me that I have to go in for the three hour glucose test. Since I had not heard anything in about two weeks I thought that I had normal levels from the one hour test, but I guess I'm not that lucky. They informed me that 140 was high and that I was at 162 so Tuesday morning I am going back in for the three hour test. I'm sure everything will come back fine, just like it did when I had to have it done when I was pregnant with Gabe. So next week I have the glucose test on Tuesday morning and then my normal doctor's appointment on Friday morning. I will keep you updated on what I find out.

New Clothes

A few weeks ago we went to Indy for a few days and while we were there Gabe and I went to Edinburgh. While we were there I went shopping for some new clothes at Motherhood Maternity. I only shopped the sale racks, but baby girl is looking good in mommy's new shirt (which I realized from the picture makes me look huge, but I still like it)and a cute polka dot dress which I don't have a picture of. Hopefully when Rebekah gets here she will enjoy shopping for cute clothes too, she already has quite a few to start out with.

Update

Since I missed posting after my last appointment I will try to catch up now. At my last appointment we talked to the doctor about doing the c-section on Dec. 29th and he put it down tentatively so we will see what happens. He also had me schedule my glucose test, which I had done this morning. Hopefully this time I won't have to go for the extended version. Baby Beka is moving around a lot and you can now see her moving on the outside. I find this very cool since I don't remember Gabe moving this much at this point and the only time I remember seeing anything move on the outside was when he kicked one time at about 6 months. It is very different this time around, but I am enjoying this pregnancy and am looking forward to seeing what the next few weeks bring.

Last Appt.

I know I am almost a week late on posting this update, but I guess it's better late than never. There is not much to report. At my doctor's appointment, I was told everything looked good from the ultrasound and that the baby was indeed measuring a week ahead of her due date. However, the doctor still did not seem like he was going to do the c-section before January. When it gets a little closer he said we would see how things were going and how much she is growing. Matt and I are still hoping for the end of December. I will try to get the ultrasound pictures scanned and posted soon so you can all see our little one.

A Quick post

It seems like I haven't been to the doctor in forever, but it has only been a little over a week since I was there for my ultrasound and I go back this coming Thursday. At this appt. I am expecting to talk about the upcoming blood work as well as my expected delivery date since the ultrasound measured me due on January 5th instead of the 12th. I am not sure when the doctor will suggest, but Matt and I are thinking it would be better to wait until after Christmas. However, I know things like this do not always go as planned since Gabe came 2 weeks plus early we never know when it will happen. I also know that Rebekah has proven herself stubborn already during the ultrasound, but since I am having a c-section again we should be able to at least plan a little better. I will keep you all updated as to what we find out.

The Majority Rules

Yesterday afternoon we had our ultrasound. According to the poll we had on the blog the majority of people who voted said we were having a girl and the majority always rules, so after almost 45 minutes of working to get the baby to move, we found out that we are in fact having a little baby girl. She looked much bigger than Gabe did in his ultrasound and was much more stubborn about cooperating with the technician. She is also measuring one week ahead of the due date they gave me at the last ultrasound. We are all very excited, especially Gabe and can't wait to meet our little one sometime the end of December.

Half Way

I can't believe that I am already half way through my pregnancy already since I will have a scheduled c-section at least a week prior to my due date. It sure is going fast. The baby is moving a lot more the past few days. I am getting more excited as the days pass and am really looking forward to next Wednesday when we will hopefully find out the sex of the baby. I'll let you know what we find out.

My Monthly Appointment

I went to the doctor on Friday morning and heard the heartbeat (134 bpm) again. It was easier to find and sounded much stronger this month. I felt such peace and just laughed to myself as we listened to our little one's heart beat inside my belly. It is amazing even though I have been through this all before how special each pregnancy is. We were told everything is going well and that we will have our ultrasound on the 27th of this month and we will hopefully find out what we are having. I will keep everyone posted on what we find out.

In my mommy's womb

Although I am not yet here my mommy has chosen to document for our family and friends our journey towards my birth sometime the end of this year or the very beginning of next year. As of right now I am 17 weeks and 4 days old and am growing strong. I have surprised my mommy with a few moves that she could feel. I am also causing my mommy's belly to begin to pop out. For the next few post I will allow my mommy to tell you how things are going with her and with me and I will look forward to meeting all those who view this blog after I am born. I will have to post pictures of the ever enlarging belly sometime soon. For now that is all we have to share, but I go to the doctor next week for my monthly check up. Check back after Friday.
